This app never auto-publishes or auto-removes listings on any marketplace — every post and every removal is something you do yourself. That's deliberate, but it means the connection between "what's on my shelf" and "what's actually live for sale" only stays accurate if you close the loop on purpose. Reconciliation is that loop, run in two directions.
Direction one: a listing that's live for an item that's gone
This is the direction that damages buyer trust fastest — someone messages about an item that already sold or can't be found. It happens when a sale is recorded internally but the corresponding marketplace listing is never manually removed or marked sold.
- For every item marked sold or returned in your records this week, confirm its listing on every platform it was posted to has actually been taken down or marked sold there too — not just internally.
- Cross-check against your own removal checklist per item, not memory — a multi-platform item can have a listing quietly still live on the platform you check least often.
Direction two: inventory with no active listing anywhere
This direction costs sales rather than trust — an item is sitting fully ready, but nothing is actually posted for it. This is the more common failure mode for sellers with a large death pile or a backlog after a bulk sourcing trip.
- Pull items with a status of ready or listed but zero active platform-listing rows attached.
- For each, confirm whether that's intentional (still being prepped) or an oversight (fully ready, simply never posted).
A simple weekly reconciliation routine
- 1
Export active inventory and active platform listings side by side
You need both lists in front of you at once — not a mental comparison.
- 2
Match every sold/returned item against its platform listings
Flag any live listing tied to a no-longer-available item for manual removal.
- 3
Match every ready-to-list item against its platform listings
Flag any item with zero active listings that should have at least one.
- 4
Take the actual removal/posting actions
Reconciliation only has value once the mismatches are actually fixed on each platform, not just identified.
