A buyer taking several items at once is one of the more efficient sales you'll make — one pickup trip covers multiple items — but it needs a bit more coordination than a single-item sale, both in pricing and in keeping each item's own record straight afterward.
Pricing a bundle
- Start from the sum of each item's individual asking price, then decide on a modest bundle discount if one is warranted — a small discount for taking several items at once is a reasonable, common practice, not a requirement.
- Keep the discount modest and consistent with your own margin math on each item — a bundle discount that erases the profit on one item defeats the purpose of selling it as part of a bundle.
- Communicate the bundle price as one number to the buyer, but keep each item's own asking price intact in your own records so per-item profit tracking stays accurate.
Coordinating separate listings
Each item almost always exists as its own listing on the platform, so a bundle sale means updating each one individually — mark each as pending once the buyer commits, and mark each sold after the handoff, rather than only updating one and letting the others sit as if still fully available.
Recording the sale correctly afterward
Each item still needs its own sale record with its own individual price — not the bundle total split evenly, which would misstate margin on items with different actual values. If the bundle sold for less than the sum of individual asking prices, allocate the discount proportionally across the items (similar to allocating a lot's cost across items) so each item's recorded sale price reflects its actual relative value, not an even split.
