This is a constructed example of a one-car garage operation with roughly 50 items on hand — small enough to organize without heavy tooling, large enough that memory alone stops being reliable.
The zone structure
The garage is split into two zones: Zone A (wall shelving, smaller items) and Zone B (floor space, larger furniture and appliances too big to shelve). Zone A has three shelf levels, each with lettered bins; Zone B items sit in a fixed floor grid with a taped-down number at each spot.

A tested Bluetooth speaker is acquired at a garage sale for $8. It's assigned SKU ELEC-26-0014 and logged with acquisition date and cost the same day.

Powers on and works, no cleaning needed — it goes straight to the photo-ready queue rather than the cleaning/testing queue.

Photographed with its identifier card per the batch-photography method, filed under ELEC-26-0014, and listed at $22 on Facebook Marketplace.

While waiting to sell, it's shelved at location A1-04.

A buyer messages, a pickup time is agreed, the item is marked pending, and after a successful handoff it's marked sold at $20 (a small negotiated discount from the $22 asking price).

Its location field is cleared once it leaves the shelf, and it's excluded from the next inventory audit's active list.
